🗓 Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

• Morning Departure from Fes.

• Short stop in Ifrane, a clean mountain town known as “the Switzerland of Morocco.”

• Drive through the Cedar Forest of Azrou, where you can see wild Barbary macaques.

• Lunch in Midelt, a town between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains.

• Cross the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees and old kasbahs.

• Arrive at the edge of the desert in Merzouga before sunset.

• Transfer to camels for a camel trek through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

• Watch the sunset in the dunes, then continue to your desert camp.

• Dinner and traditional music under the stars. First night in the desert.

🗓 Day 2: Exploring Erg Chebbi & Second Night in the Desert

• Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes.

• Breakfast at the camp.

• Explore the desert surroundings by 4x4:

  • Visit nomadic Berber families living in tents.

  • Stop by the village of Khamlia to hear Gnawa music.

  • Discover fossil areas, oasis gardens, and old mines.

• Lunch at a local desert auberge.

• Free time to relax or take a walk in the dunes.

• In the late afternoon, return to the camp.

• Begin the journey back to Fes, retracing the scenic route:

  • Stop for panoramic views in Ziz Valley.

  • Lunch in Midelt or Zaida.

  • Pass again through the Middle Atlas, forests, and mountains.

  • Short rest in Ifrane before arriving in Fes in the evening.

Four Days Fes to Merzouga Desert Tour – 2 Nights in the Sahara & End in Marrakech

Day 1: Fes → Middle Atlas → Ziz Valley → Merzouga Desert

First Night in the Sahara

Your desert adventure begins with an early morning departure from Fes. Travel south through the scenic Middle Atlas Mountains, passing cedar forests and traditional Berber towns.

Highlights of the day:

• Stop in Ifrane, known as the “Little Switzerland of Morocco”

• Visit the cedar forest of Azrou to see Barbary macaques

• Panoramic drive through the lush Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves

By late afternoon (around 16:30–17:00), arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Sahara. Meet your desert team and prepare for a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

As the sun sets, ride your camel to the desert camp, stopping on a high dune for unforgettable sunset photos.

Evening in the desert:

• Mint tea welcome at the camp

• Traditional Moroccan dinner

• Berber music and drumming around the fire

• Overnight in a luxury desert tent

Day 2: Merzouga Desert → Private 4×4 Sahara Tour

Second Night in the Desert

Wake up to silence and endless dunes. After breakfast, set off on a private 4×4 desert excursion (10:00–15:00) that reveals the hidden life of the Sahara.

Private 4×4 Tour Includes:

• The Black Desert (volcanic landscapes)

• Visit to a Nomad family in the desert

• Exploration of old French mines

• Fossil fields rich in ancient marine life

• Live Gnawa spiritual music in Khamlia village

Return to the camp in the afternoon to relax. Optional activities include sandboarding, walking on the dunes, or enjoying tea with locals. Later, head out again for another desert sunset.

Day 3: Merzouga → Todgha Gorge → Boumalne Dades

Night in Dades Valley

After sunrise and breakfast, leave the desert and travel west through changing landscapes.

Stops along the way:

• Walk through the spectacular Todgha Gorge, with towering canyon walls

• Lunch in Tinghir or Tinjdad

• Drive through the Valley of Roses and traditional Berber villages

In the afternoon, arrive in Boumalne Dades. Visit the famous Dades Gorge, known for its winding roads and dramatic rock formations.

Evening:

• Dinner

• Overnight in a charming hotel overlooking the Dades Valley

Day 4: Boumalne Dades → Ait Ben Haddou → High Atlas → Marrakech

After breakfast, continue toward Marrakech via Morocco’s most scenic routes.

Highlights:

• Drive through Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert

• Visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic historical sites

• Free time to explore the ancient ksar and its unique architecture

• Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with panoramic photo stops

Arrive in Marrakech in the evening (around 19:00–20:00). Drop-off at your hotel or preferred location.
